Ever noticed Google takes a “little” to display its logos? If you’re using Ubuntu since a relatively long time ago, you may not notice but yes, internet turns out to be a little slow on Ubuntu by default. This happens because of IPv6 is enabled on Ubuntu and its Firefox.

So, if you want a faster internet, all you have to do is to edit _/etc/modprobe.d/_aliases and change the line “alias net-pf-10 ipv6” to “alias net-pf-10 off”, for the noobs: $ sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/aliases

After this you also need to do a little hack on Firefox. Type about:config on the address bar and on the filter bar write network.dns.disableIPv6, then change the value to “true” by double clicking it. Restart Firefox and voila! Now you can surf faster.
